Antique French Empire Mantel Clock, Subject of Echo

A large and impressive scale French Empire mantel clock in the finest chased and gilded bronze.  A classically draped maiden reclines over a ‘mirrored’ pond with a shell in her hand. The case is embellished with dolphins, mermen, masks of Neptune and a frieze depicting Cupid’s procession; white enamel Roman numeral dial; original silk-string suspension movement.
